The banks were down based, perhaps, on the macro. Now recovering somewhat based, perhaps, on the lowish wage outcome.
Low wages good- lesser chance of further rate rises.
Low wages bad- punters have less money and accordingly less profits for banks. Oh, and less I appear too blase about these things, bad for punters trying to simply pay the bills and feed the kids etc.
