we have many iphones - ranging from 3 to 6 plus and 2 of the original ipads --
hard to believe, but, they are still all alive and all work - never had a total fail
only one has a physical problem - that's a 4 with a dead button - which can be operated normally by the use of a softkey - setup in settings (from memory).
people can dump on Apple as much as they like - my/our experience of the hardware is that it is very durable.
We have also had quite a few samsungs ------- phones have been great - but, required regular battery replacements (never done on on the apples) - had some samsung tablets that were duds and a google tablet that should have been throw over the bloody cliff the day it was purchased.
certainly do love the look of the samsung S8 and it's bigger sister - probably a very good phone at a guess.
Might go for a new 7 or 8 Apple - but, probably wouldn't go for the X - although it will be pretty.
will just stick with the 6Plus until it seems slow and old at a guess - it's still a great phone
