if it’s a script bid or a combination of script and cash then it will pay to get financial advice. I personally will look to take script for the majority of my IMU shares depending on who the acquiring company is and their dividend yield as I can defer the capital gains tax and easily live off the dividend in Merck or Roche or Amgen. I would sell some stock straight away for the sugar hit and to wipe out some poor decisions lingering on my tax file number.
