You've probably figured this out already, but just in case....
The answer to your first point is that the value of a company is about Market Capitalisation, not just the share price. So the amount of shares on issue is very important, you can't just set that aside.
Silverlake has around 4 times more shares on issue than Genesis, and has a Market Cap of around $1.2 billion, where as Genesis has a Market Cap of around $300 million. So Silverlake is currently around 4 times the value of Genesis.
