I've asked myself that same question numerous times.
If Neuren did decide to move forward without a deal now, what would make them so confident to go down that path at this point in time?
Does the story continue to evolve? Yes.
Does the story continue to strengthen? Yes.
Is that where Neuren are putting their energy? Yes.

In terms of confidence...
Is safety/tolerability consistently encouraging? Yes.
Is the molecular pathway encouraging? Yes.
Is the neurobehavioural data encouraging? Yes.
Does all of this accurately predict the future? No.
Does it give Neuren confidence? You bet.
