I auditioned for the lead role in 'A Brilliant Mind' but the director far preferred Russell Crowe!
He did a damn fine job too winning an Academy Award for enablng viewers to see Paranoid Schizophrenia as the sufferer sees it (from the inside) not as shrinks see it!
The best quote in the flim is when Crowe says something that goes to vast difference between Liberal and Labor attitudes towards what it is to be human:
"Perhaps it is good to have a beautiful mind, but an even greater gift is to have a beautiful heart."
