You forget to add magnetics. Magnetite is highly magnetic. Sand, soil, granite, copper, zinc, lead, gold are not. Other types of iron ore do not have the inherant magnetic properties of magnetite.
I'm no expert that said, so I've got a question for any budding Geo's out there, would this mean that a conceptual magnetite target in this case, should be able to be modelled more accurately due to strong magnetic signature?
