agree wholeheartedly with your informative post, but would like to add to Geothermal verses coal.
It will take many years for Geo to replace coal, as Geo comes online (at least 18mths-2years)it would merely take up the constant need for more power in this country. as more Geo comes online looking further ahead, yes old dirty coal fired plants will gradually be shut down. my point is there will be plenty of time for a piecemeal assimilation,(20-30 years)
In the meantime coal co's make more money from exports than they do from selling there product to local power producers. This will keep our miners in business for many generations.
