    Well, pumpkinhead, you'd do well to wonder whether that project will be economically competitive with the plentiful fossil fuels of the region. You think the green movement is priority number one there? Are they going to foot the enormous capital costs and ongoing increased $/MWh just so mother nature is preserved?

    I don't think so.

    100C/km is an outstanding thermal gradient, possibly indicating an outstanding resource, but it is unlikely to be developed for a long time. If the region seeks energy security, they will find it through fission, not geothermal.
