Ah, sooooo good to see Yak's usual contribution! Sooooo informative? Well about him, anyway. Great also to see Oly's contribution. Soooooo eloquent! Far more eloquent than Greer's some would say and did. I suppose all you guys read the whole of the Greer article, no? It has quite a number more words than all of yours put together and establishes a well-sustained logic about the garbage that we love to call... "heroes" or "stars" or "celebs." How easily we banter these words around. And some us, hate words (or acronyms) like SNAG and the like because we simply don't understand them, don't want to understand and so we place them in a puke bucket called the "hatred for men" bucket. That's extremely wrong guys. Extremely dangerous and it SHOWS your lack of sensitivity and ability to hold a relationship with anyone but a pub mate, which is no mate at all but just a walking stick to help you get home to your lonely beds. What Greer did for the world is far superior to what Irwin has done. Far more valuable to the thinkers and architects of societies. Yes, she has a house in Tuscany and probably in a dosen other places, including one in Qld; and, unlike this pseudo hero, this media-made hero, she knows about wildlife and its needs. And, like everyone else who knows about wildlife and its needs, shrinks and shrivels when he sees these "heroes" pretent to be stronger or wiser than a sleeping croc. He was full of BS which iritated everyone with any sense of fairness: man vs animal is not a proposition. Man in harmony with animal is the right proposition. Personally, I was waiting for the day he was going to have a wrestle with a gum tree or an oak but, alas, I missed out.
When I have an exquisite old lady next door suddenly been told that her stomach is riddled with cancer and I see these i diots losing false tears over a bad, yes disgusting actor who was only propped up by the media and by his own money, I, too feel like Germaine Greer and I look back at the days when I read her newly published her Female Eunuch. I wonder if any of you ever read it, or read anything else of her and having done so evaluate her article anew. Greer or Irwin? No damned contest!
