For a year successfully: German contract and Ceramic Fuel Cells fuel cell prepare the way
The high electrical efficiency of up to 60 percent, is produced by the more current than heat, allowing a year-round operation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Picture: German contract
The energy market is constantly changing. Future price developments are just as difficult to predict as planned. Various technologies on the market, for example in the field of renewable energies, offering consumers the opportunity to take a certain extent influence on the developments. To save power, the investment is especially recommended for professionals in a fuel cell. Stadtwerke Neuss German subsidiary is cooperating contract for one year with the manufacturer Ceramic Fuel Cells (CFC) from Heinberg and provides customer by contracting the ability to use energy-efficient future technology.
A first contact between the two parties during the winter of 2012 on the parent company, Stadtwerke Neuss (swn). As a modern business enterprises were and are the Stadtwerke always interested in new, active-designed products and services. For if they can show their clients different energy-saving opportunities for both heat and electricity - fuel cell technology is therefore a potentially interesting offer. To explore the interest and demand for the fuel cell, the Neuss utilities informed at the beginning of 2013, the local press on the topic and to cooperate with the Heinsberger manufacturer CFC. The subsequent, extensive coverage fueled considerable interest from commercial and light industry with moderate power requirements, so that the fuel cell was added to the portfolio of energy services.
Hand in hand with the local tradesmen
Through intensive collaboration with the experts from Heinberg could be installed within the first year ten fuel cell devices in commercial premises as well as in private property owners. Each BlueGen produces annually about 13,000 kWh of electricity locally to where it is needed and halved the CO2 emissions. "The investments in 2013, we have implemented in collaboration with the local Neuss specialist crafts and so simultaneously strengthened in use with this future technology, the expertise of the specialist companies," said Roland Gilges, CEO is pleased with German contract. "In addition, partner companies will continue to receive training on the installation of fuel cell technology, to form a broad basis with the appropriate know-how," said Gilges on. After the first year successfully completing the Neuss city-wide works of the cooperation through its subsidiary German contract in 2014 Neuss on the entire country. To this end, there were already first information sessions for potential buyers and interested parties, which also attracted very positive first resonances by itself.
Innovative, efficient use of energy
Who uses fuel cell technology, relies on efficient and clean power generation. "She does not function as usual via classical combustion but by an electrochemical reaction. The special feature here is the direct conversion of chemical energy stored the used fuel into electricity and heat without an intermediate step, "explains Andreas Ballhausen, member of management of Ceramic Fuel Cells (CFC). Thus, the future of technology achieved an unusually high degree of efficiency, which means a CO2 saving of up to 50 percent compared to the condensing technology and centralized electricity purchasing. In addition, end users can cut their electricity costs about. Thus, the fuel cell technology resources, climate and budget preserves the same time. Important: The hydrogen extracted from natural gas is just as safe to handle as other fuels and gases also. The security of such systems, therefore, does not differ from that of conventional boilers and is accordingly high. The manufactured at the production site Heinberg plants called BlueGen bring several advantages over conventional, motorized equipment with them. One of them is the high electrical efficiency of up to 60 percent, is produced by the more current than heat - this allows for year round operation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
