Well the Germans don't miss a trick, they just announced they wont use the Oxford vaccine for 65 years and over, citing lack of data.

Interesting to see what the TGA does here. If it goes the same way as Germany, the Australian rollout strategy is probably mostly intact as there are 5.55 million in the >60 years category, and they were fairly high up in the distribution order already anyway. We have 5 million double doses of Pfizer available.

However, will the rest of Australia want the 62% effective Oxford or tell the government to shove it and wait for more orders of the 95% effective Pfizer or a first order of the 95% effective Moderna?

The TGA may even wait for further rounds of Oxford trials, as the USA and other countries are doing.

Quote from my post the other day comparing Pfizer/Moderna/Oxford trials:
"The oxford trial measured the age category split ten years younger at 55 years of age, even with this, older people were still very poorly represented. Males also poorly represented and yet this was the gender at most risk. Contrived to get an outcome? But yet still only 62% effective."
