The city council of Landau today voted to approve the zoning plan for the site on which Vulcan plans to build its phase 1 power plant and lithium extraction plant. Just one out of many things that need to happen before shovels go in the ground, but good to see another box ticked.

The voting result hasn't yet been uploaded, but from listening to the live stream of the council session I believe the resolution passed with a majority of 40 or so in favour vs. 3 against, so about the same result as the vote in December when the council first granted Vulcan the purchase option for the site.
As a side note, there will be municipal elections in Landau this coming Sunday (9 June), though given the apparent cross-party support for the project, the outcome shouldn't affect Vulcan negatively.
