That's the problem with dramatic event driven responses, strategies, feasibility, economics and the reality of outcomes, aren't fully considered before knees start jerking.

How can German nuclear plants considered safe enough to extend their future operating licences just recently, now be considered the devil's re-incarnate, by a freak event on a small island on the other side of the world? Surely a detailed safety and risk analysis was undertaken, and German nuclear plants deemed low-risk at whatever levels German nuclear regulators choose to apply, prior to extending their operating licenses.

I can only sum it up as politically lame.
