To use Germany as an example to Australia is irrelevant, which country are we going to import from when we don't have enough power to go around.
It really comes down to wanting everyone one to think Germany have lowered their CO2 emissions, maybe they will but only at the expense of their neighbouring country.
It's all about a balance that will keep the lights on at a reasonable price for consumers, and it that situation we as a country have to stand alone due to our position geographically.
