There was good reason why German Gold was not stored in Germany many years ago. These reasons no longer apply so why not ask to hold your own Gold. Like many of the Gold conspiracies it will be raved about on certain web sites (Zero hedge, King World News, Slver Bear cafe, Harvey Organ, etc) "as proof" until the conspiracy eventually dies and a new one comes along to repeat the never ending cycle. I have lost count of the number of times on Hot Copper a conspiracy story is hailed as "This is It .. Gold to the moon" when in reality it is a non event.

The movement in Gold last night was due to Bernanke's speech about QE and monetary policy. The "breaking" story about German Gold had NIL effect on Gold.

QE, Govt debt levels, potential inflation, deficits, bank solvency, interest rates, debt ceiling, monetary base, etc are the reasons why Gold is rising.
