Unfortunately having best of intentions through renewable energy use to help the world doesn't solve the fundamental problem that the most advanced alternative energy technologies are not and will not for a very long time be tested and proven sources of baseload power for a modern industry and lifestyle to make economic decisions on.
I would love to support renewables, but I am a realistic and recognise the short comings of the uncertainties of weather and seasons, and thus support nuclear.
Is a country going to tell industry and communities to not use electricity for a year because for some reason they had the least-windiest year on records for 50 years or an unseasonally cloudy summer?
