I would not be surprised if right now solar and wind were similar in cost to nuclear. But the blinkered nuclear and/or fossil fuel rah rah brigade will not be persuaded. I've never heard of anyone suffering radiation sickness or having to evacuate due to an accident at a solar energy plant or a wind farm, LOL. Even if electricity prices did go up, its not the end of the world, but a big nuclear accident might come close. How much will this accident cost Japan? Some people seem to have no idea of materiality or impact. Yes, just another enlightening day on HotCopper.
