Don't know if you have heard about Dr Michael Hudson?
He has some fascinating stuff to say about the Oligarch's and the fact that the US is a Kleptocracy. Written many books and articles appear in Counter Punch amongst others.
He is a former Wall St Economist (Chase Manhattan) amongst other things (current Research Professor at a US uni, Former advisor to Dennis Kucinch, President of The Institute for the Study of Long-Term Economic Trends-ISLET).
Anyway, I have been catching up on his latest and came across this interview from July 23 last in which he mentions the fact that the German Gold holdings (amongst other EU countries) are being held by the FRB NY - Liberty St and people are starting to get worried etc:
