Mistyrains I'm aware of the issue. I was making the point that overseas or not, even a 50% tax or not, will make no difference such is the huge difference in pricing. This is an 'online' issue that many refuse to acknowledge. Whether I paid 50% less for an item from an online seller here or overseas, Gerry's still going to be peaved. Sure there will alway be retail stores for those that like to try clothes on etc, but many of these stores are simply doomed.

I was also making the point that while large retailers might lose, others will gain. There are many Australans working full time selling online.

And it's far from a boring life. I can look at a far greater range of products. I have never had a problem with returns or service (arguably a better service than retail stores) or shipping. So if anything I think it's enhanced my life. While you're trying to find a park, or Myer staff, I'm dirtbike riding.
