My money is still in for SB. Just can't take it when i get out and then 2 days later they have found hydrocarbons.

Some good posts from another forum:

''When did they decide to drill on past the original Anderson target, and why didnt they tell us? The lost mud circulation was reported as "total loss of returns" an unfortunate choice of words. That occured in the new secondary deeper target. The original target had what we thought it would have, "elevated mud gas, and oil shows" The highly porous new formation is not a bad thing. Hydrocarbons exist in porous formations. If the logging instruments show hydrocarbons present, they will case the hole and run a drill stem test, reducing the mud pressure in a controlled way to induce the well to flow to the surface. They will still do this anyway to the original Anderson target.
Hang in there, do not join the lemmings..''

''Re the announcement by ARQ. Difficult to understand?
No worries ! Vucular Porosity means large holes in the formation, otherwise known as secondary porosity connected by the primary porosity = a good thing ! Imagine a porous swiss cheese, the Vucs are the holes.
Vucular porosity occurs in carboniforous limestone formations. Almost always containing hydrocarbons, and if so in SB1, they will come galloping in.
After testing the Nullara, they will set a plug and then flow test the Anderson formation. Heres hoping...hang in there! Could be 2 wells in the one bore.''

''Re SB#1. You misunderstand.. Nullara formation is very good. This type of formation (Vugular Porosity) almost always contains hydrocarbons. To test it and the Anderson, they are running casing (pipes) down to the bottom of the well bore to TD (total depth) Then they will perforate (make holes) in the casing. Then by displacing the drilling mud with nitrogen, and then reducing the N2 pressure they can induce the well to flow up the pipes. If it doeesnt flow all the way to the surface it needs to be pumped up, not uncommon, see beam pump oil wells. Then they set a temporary plug and perforate the Anderson formation casing, and see what flows from there. they have to plug the bottom nullara so that it doesnt interfere with the Anderson. After that the well is completed for production from the 2 zones by running production tubing with plugs to separate the zones.
This will probably take up to 1 week.''
