Rio Tinto has put out the call for electricity companies willing to develop renewable energy for their aluminum smelters in Australia - 4GW worth
will benefit the NEM as a whole - but it goes to show that if the government sits on its hands... and encumbent generators also do the same... the customers will take matters into their own hands.
