At least BESS's in SA - which is only making up 1% of the energy mix, are outputting at the correct times - peak... shame Clean Co (QLD) do the Wivenhoe PH at the absolute lowest point instead... talk about market manipulation. That plus the "scheduled reduced capacity" that we are currently being put under when prices are at ATH... last time we were at these prices... AGL was $27 per share... then the QLD government changed the way that Stanwell bid for power and prices fell... Stanwell has reverted to how it was in 2017 again...

there does need to be dispatchable energy available for when renewables output is low... but as I have said before... that dispatchable energy needs to be more dynamic than what coal power plants can supply... funny how when the coalition was in power... it wasn't a coal plant they were building to shake up the private energy generators - it was gas... now the Nationals leader is trying to talk up Nuclear - coal still isn't mentioned - other than they want the existing assets fixed and back outputting into the grid.

Out of curiosity. Does anyone know what price a generator is paid if electricity is exported from SA ---> VIC, or QLD ---> NSW?
There were times yesterday where QLD was asking $2... NSW was $334 - does a QLD generator get $2 per MW... while the NSW purchaser pays $334... who gets the cream? Where is the incentive to export? Do they have to nominate the generation for export???
