I think you're naive if you think you should see any substance from him yet.
- He is a smart investor... what do smart investors do... they research opportunities and feasibility which takes time.
- He is not yet in a position where he can release 'detailed' plans as he ins't a member of the board yet. We will only see what he is thinking once a new board is established (with him on it).
MCB tried to take the company private (and a small part of me thinks he will try again). It is a lot harder for a public company to make big investments and changes thus limiting his potential to turn the company around (both economically and with reducing emissions). For him, the ideal would be private ownership where he doesn't have to report, pay dividends, worry about stock price and deal with coal-washed
nuffies voting against his business plans.
For the future of AGL, it would do a lot better as a private company. For the future of my holdings, I want it to stay public (albeit at an increased risk of his
'plans' not working) hoping that he pulls it off and makes some solid investments in Australia's energy future.
