They wont sell it. Getting the bids however showed the market undervalued it. Australia's racing market is the best in the world and the TAB has a stranglehold on the data and media rights.
Demerger will allow them to get the full value of the product as overseas betting markets look for good quality products to allow punters to bet on. Outside of Australia the racing market is slim, HK and Singapore are okay but run 1-2 meetings a week and all wagering is run through their own totes.
Id think Tabcorp will want to take the product international and run a commission based structure for wagering on it.
