Option holders are by definition not shareholders. So why exactly should they have a say in the running of the company? Further although pointedly not saying it, if the options are exercised the shareholders will be diluted.
It is a whole different thing for shareholders to ask for consideration. As far as I know a number of very intelligent people made considered decisions on how many of each of the 'OC's, heads and 'OD's to hold.
