Yes I did the same. I am hoping to get some research together (when I can find time) to analyse the potential market within Australia.
Depending on data I will group by (as a non-medical expert):
- Current generally accepted uses;
- Quality of Life uses (if not generally accepted) - Spasticity, stroke, cancer (anti-tumour), parkinsons, chronic pain-terminal, cerebral palsy, epilepsy;
- Mental illness uses (schizophrenia, anxiety);
- Chronic pain (not terminal) - eg back injury while at work;
- Common but less urgent by comparison (anti-inflammatory, substance abuse treatment);
Cosmetic is something I don't aim to include as I don't know how any of it works.
Key measures on market share/impact for me:
- Conversion of opiate based prescriptions to cannabidiol based prescriptions;
- Product sales where no existing treatment is effective;
- Product sales where side-effects of existing drugs make cannibidiol more effective as a treatment;
- Product sales where cannibidiol is a lower cost alternative to existing treatment.
