Governments are full of academics...with ideological thought patterns. I could say the same about universities, never been taught how to think outside of the box, because you can not teach practical skills or lateral thought processes...
I was at a uni carpark yesterday, waiting for some friends...a parking warden came out and told me I couldn't park were I was without displaying at valid ticket...I told him i was only waiting and wouldn't be long...the response he gave me was I needed to pay to park...so I reversed out of the car park and drove into the surrounding space that wasn't deemed a carpark... It puzzles academics when you destroy there way of boundaries and rules...so will currency and money... people will adapt and the Gumnut will be weaker for it... As for all the services Pinto, like I said...but to increase public spending when one has limited responsibility creates waste...
