Let me know how you go with the Strayban....possums have cost me hundreds of dollars for tree removalists, they killed a 40 y/o apple tree the used to feed the neighbours,and 5 other mature trees, at one stage they were nesting in the garden shed and it was suggested moth balls or naphthaline flakes would get them out but the possums seemed happy to continue nesting there.
My new apple tree was attacked last year in spite of being netted so this year I put a cage around it insulated off the ground and connected to an electric fence unit(40000 volts) plus the net tucked into the cage....no problem this year.

They eventually killed this tree....
