certainly debono... it is a contentious issue for me. but reality is what it is and we have GST... so it is moot rather than depurate;y needing to be changed.
Not only is our economy bound to the GST but no politician would dare to suggest raising other taxes whereas the subject of raising the GST is often on the lips of right wingers as an easy fix for an unsolvable problem that the GST was meant to fix - State Gov funding. And the more state gov.s privatise, as they did in NSW on a massive scale, and lose revenue streams, the more desperate the NSW gov will become to increase and/or broaden the GST.
