Vertical integration is not the focus of the RIV model. The power station killed a couple of birds with one stone.

* It provides guaranteed offtake for some of the thermal coal output from Benga.

* It reduces the use of very tight rail-to-port capacity, and opens up more export of the higher margin coking product.

* Shows that Riv have trumped VALE, who were trying to offer a similar deal to the govt. VALE have done everything to block RIV, and to date have been unable stop RIV development.

What the two recent announcements show me, is that the govt is right behind RIV. These announcements are a great endorsement of the project and the management of RIV.
