It does smack of rushed incompetence.

I suppose his defense was that this was only a small % of the value of the fund.
I suppose they also had to act quickly to participate in the capital raising as the decision was time bound.

Regardless, one would have to hope that more effort and consideration was put into the recent investment into GSW.
I would hope that this investment was scrutinised even more than normal, given the initial blooper.
