Got a great deal in Norway, going up the fjords into the arctic circle, in April.

40% off if you book to leave on Wednesday. The cruises are part scenic, part supply ship, it's really a wonderful trip.

On the basis that you spend less time in your room, as the coast is mostly on the right hand side, no point in getting a room with just a view of the ocean, an inside room rather than a window room was even cheaper. It's cold at that time of the year, so you spend time behind windows in the public spaces.

a lowlight of the trip was a very plastered russian, whose hand came out through the plastic palm trees, tried to stroke my very curly hair. He'd obviously never seen anything like it, and had no inhibitions at all. quite funny though, he later fell over on the dance floor and they dragged him away. It was like a scene out of a bad movie.

Norway is incredible. the scenery was totally amazing. Sweden is much flatter and less interesting. A rail pass is a very cheap way of getting around if you prepay.
