The Australian today reported that giant building company Thiess had hired a contractor to spy on union members and others working on the desalination plant on the coast at Wonthaggi.
The report alleged senior managers at Thiess paid several hundred thousand of dollars to Tasmanian based strike-breaker Bruce Townsend to install spies in the workforce and report back to Thiess.
