OptionTrader's comments made me realise that I'm not sure what we should expect to hear (good or bad) in any major announcement. We got some prelim announcements on earlier stage results, but what"verdict" would we possibly get over the next week (or two or three)?

Isn't it more likely that the next announcement would be a fuzzy positive or fuzzy negative, such as that the mud logs (or whatever) show more or less potential than expected. I hold HZN and I can't recall a HZN announcement that shocked the market. It was only later when the company and partners proceeded to initiate production development that the sp moved.
