If they are getting cold feet it's likely due to the knowledge that a low-ball bid opportunity has now gone. By all accounts the ship is now heading in the right direction, crew mates not contributing or who were plotting a mutiny have been cast adrift and there appears to be plenty of fuel reserves on hand to make the boat go faster.
