Vocus are the number 2 customer for Broadsoft in Asia Pacific I believe so they have already had considerable voice experience in the SIP world, in terms of results that's why their voice is growing in the Enterprise and Wholesale space, vs deep declines at other carriers, TPG being a good example as they focus on mobile and NBN and not voice.
Commander is in a death spiral, no different to IAB in terms of future business versus past performance. They have a terrible reputation both direct and in wholesale (whirlpool has some great examples) and core business is rebill of old technologies, ISDN and POTS. The Commander SIP system is like Engin, built to a consumer grade SLA and standard, and small biz unlike consumer takes heed of reputation much more closely when it comes to recontracting services. Commander also struggles with its channel, hard to sell on commissions as a dealer when the same product is sold by officeworks
ASC is going to be heavily skewed in Business rev toward the end of FY18, as confidence grows of completion and bandwidth dries up on alternatives. It's a long sales cycle, but circumstances will see it sell itself eventually.
Don't forget consumer is relatively new for VOC, with most of its history having been an enterprise and wholesale player, sure the M2 merger and management changed that. But let's not forget there are a lot of brands burned in getting that experience, Club Telco, Primus and to a certain extent Commander. What was lacking in the investor day presentations was a focus on marketing which drives most of the consumer spend, its a big hole in VOC that remains. Get the solution selling right in the traditional market with the new capabilities is more of a priority it seems, and one that doesn't need much $$$.
