reply to jkim1078, re the roasting issue of ore at Syama.
not sure what type of fuel they will use to initiate the roasting process but will probably be diesel, SE Mali is a long way from the coast and not sure which way the fuel will come in.
Shortest route is through Ivory Coast or Ghana and taxes will be payable + transport of over 1000km. In any case if they have to roast it won;t be cheap.
