in relative terms gold did fly ..... 5% + its gains for the day which currently stand at 1.5% = 6.5% over the djia

BUT in AUD terms you would have made 10% overnight ......

I think the struggle that gold is having has lots to do with the debate between whether we will experience deflation or inflation

deflation + inflation = stagflation .... maybe under such circumstances gold will remain static whilst other assets depreciate and daily prices inflate .....
