syria like palestine doesnt have much oil therefore it isnt a economic (oil)/political/military target like iran and saudi arabia are for the US military and civlian leadership
All they would have to do is get 5,000-10,000 US troops manning those checkpoints - stop the infultration and control the influx of foreign jihadists and equipment into iraq
But the US isnt to interesting in doing this and the issue will continue.
