Hi Von Trapp,
I still dont think you can go past Babypips.com for a fairly comprehensive introduction to Fx(Forex).
I also maintain that GoMarkets is a very good Broker if you are happy with MT4 Platform. They are based in Melbourne and will give you a demo a/c for a month free. After that if you open a live a/c, but dont deposit any money, you can keep your demo indefinitely. This used to be the case, you would just need to check to see its still so. Also you can trade 0.01 lots which equates to approx 10 cents per pip ( or a trade of US$1,000 Min approx) with very little extra costs on spreads. Believe you me you can still lose money very quickly even at these levels.
I cannot reinforce enough that money management is the key to staying in the FX game, and I totally support the previous comments about this. Maximum risk on any trade should only be 1%. Most of these things are very easy to say but much harder to adhere too, and herein lies the major challenges for most Traders.
Hope this helps, Cheers P51
