Poster psychology aside, the 14th Amendment will likely spell mid-term disaster to any member of Congress that aided and abetted the insurrection.
My guess is that a fairly narrow legal interpretation will be applied. Those who simply voted not to endorse Biden's win maybe off the hook.
Those who texted rioters to provide information to them or who otherwise coordinated with the riot organisers will be disqualified before or after the ballots are finalised. Disqualification hopefully happens prior to ballot finalisation because if it doesn't, a Democrat could be the only candidate to vote for in some electorates.
My suspicion is that the Democrats are stretching the timing on this for maximum impact.
