Misleading post imo. Firstly anyone can opt to put super in any fund of their choice. Secondly the amount of savings under superannuation is astronomical and only a fool or extremely wealthy person that doesnt need it would complain about the benefits. There are tax benefits along the journey and when converted to pension mode there is no tax payable.

Once commuted to pension mode you can take out as much as you like with the only requirement being a minimum of 5% must be taken out each year. If you are are fortunate enough for your investments to make millions when in pension mode you pay no tax on the fund value and no tax on the income you draw from the fund.

You can choose where the money gets invested so if you wish you can have total control.

Maybe your problem is an ideological one. Perhaps you cant stand the thought that superannuation for all workers is a great Labor initiative and you may not be able to handle the fact that working Australians from all walks of life are able to save for a better retirement.

The massive amounts in superannuation funds in fact underpin much of the investment in business in Australia. Without it we would not be the prosperous nation we are today.

Its a ludicrous proposition to try and tarnish superannuation for some politically bent reason.

I am certain that any changes IF they occur will only be at the fringes and aimed at removing loopholes used by the most well off. Superannuation does have very generous provisions and I am all for preventing abuses of such a generous system, should that be contemplated.
