Who's money is it? It is not the governments. That money is 100% owned by the individual. Government forcibly gets its hands on some of this money by taxing it.
What it wants to do is increase the level of tax. It wants more money. This is a tax grab.
GetUp doesnt care. Most of its members are public servants and they are on defined benefits. They will not be effected. Politicians super will NOT be effected.
And please remember why the super scheme was first introduced. It was to encourage those that could afford to save for their retirement the means to save for their retirement. Leaving those that couldnt afford to save for their retirement a larger slice of the government pension scheme.
This policy is crap and the unintended consequences will easily outweigh any perceived advantages.
