An "error of judgement" is a poor description for allowing an admitted child user and abuser to remain in the ministry. Even the excuse that attitudes were different then is disallowed by Hollingworth claiming just last week that a 14-year old girl had started a secsual relationship with a priest.

It would appear some personal sympathy was involved in the leniency towards the clergy. It would appear that Hollingworth has unusual forgiveness for priests succumbing to temptation, but child exploitation goes further than temptation. The position of the priest of power, authority and influence over the young makes exploitation possible but the priest who takes advantage and covers up, except to confess to a sympathetic archbishop, that's no good at all.
