Long term SP mostly has only one driver - the fundamentals of the company

Quite often once a company appears on a takeover screen then the fundamentals can be, and often are, overridden by those little gremlins that are commonly known as BOTS

But meanwhile there are other forces at work in a lot of registers, these forces are known as traders.

Traders derive/lose their income from as many tick movements as they can gain/lose at any point in time of the overall general SP trend.

Guess what? They all use charts to do this, so sometimes following charts can be and quite often is a self-fulfilling prophecy in the short term

That is why there are those who place such a level of importance on charts, so if you decide to be in long term the chart talk shouldn't cause any concern, but nevertheless can still be very helpful as those in the know with prior knowledge on something that will affect the fundamentals will definitely show up on the charts before you get to hear about it.

Charts every bit as important as the company research.
