A slightly worrying development:

Hard to know exactly what has gone on here, but Gold Fields were apparently given 24 hrs to clear off the lease. Damang isn't a producing mine anymore, but Tarkwa is the mine Gold Fields really want to keep in good order, as it is a beast.
Reading between the lines, the government is obviously wanting to maximise returns from the mining of gold deposits that belong to Ghana. If it is all done above board and Gold Fields legitimately did break the rules, then in principle it's understandable.
However if this represents a policy shift towards resource nationalisation similar to other parts of the World, this could spell trouble for PRU not only in Ghana but other African jurisdictions in which they're operating. At these elevated gold prices, the temptation to take a bigger piece of the pie will be huge.
