Did I not see a doco where the natives caught the big tarantulas, cooked and ate them, the legs being a delicacy.
Would not want to be that frog, hopefully he is protected and has a purpose but it sounds a bit like the lion leaving the little dear or whatever alive so the cubs can "practise"
