You end up with two possibilities, 1) a big pharma with no play in the HCV market that is looking for a way in (Pfizer is in this category) or, 2) and existing player making preemptive strike. The one with no play would probably wait until results are available and with good results could pay the kind of sum you are talking about. The one already in the game may want to make a move before the competition and not wait for the results. If 2) did that then the dollars and deal structure would be as in my previous post.
