Seven days ago I’d have said we’ve come pretty close to telling the whole sordid story.
And I’d have been wrong.
The new material I’ve acquired this week is an order of magnitude greater in volume and importance than the total of all our work to date.
I will publish some of it here for the first time.
But much of it is so important to Australia’s history that I think it warrants more prominence and gravitas than we offer.
Complex important stories like this one deserve the weight of a national journal of record and I’ll do my best to make sure this story gets just that.
